What Makes Floral Packaging Worth Buying?

A nice design is not always enough.

When we look at a new floral packaging product, we first think about whether there is a real need for it.

For us, choosing a product is not just about whether it looks good. We also think about the market, the price, the competition and whether there is a real reason for customers to choose it.

Can it sell?

Can it be used by florists, garden centres or gift shops in everyday business?

A product may look beautiful, but if it only works for one occasion or one type of flower, it can be difficult to sell in larger quantities.

We tend to look for products that are practical and can be used in different situations.

Is the price right?

Price is important, but it is not just about getting the lowest cost.

We also need to think about the final selling price and whether there is enough room for a reasonable margin.

For us, the right product needs a good balance between price, quality and what customers are willing to pay.

Is there already too much of the same thing?

This is something we think about a lot.

Floral packaging is a competitive market. There are already many kraft bags, floral prints and botanical designs available.

If a product looks almost the same as many others, it is difficult to give customers a reason to choose it.

So we always ask:

What is different about this one?

It does not have to be completely new. Sometimes a better size, a more practical handle or a different design can make a difference.

Can it sell for more than one season?

Seasonal products can be attractive, but we also look for products that can work for longer.

A simple botanical or natural design can often be used across different seasons and occasions.

This makes the product more flexible and can also reduce the risk of having too much seasonal stock.

Does it make sense as part of a range?

We also think about how a product works with other products.

A paper bag can be used together with paper pot covers, flower wraps, gift packaging and other accessories.

When products work well together, it is easier to create a consistent look and give customers more choices.

Good packaging needs a reason to sell

For us, good floral packaging is not simply about creating something beautiful.

It needs to make sense for the market, be at the right price and give customers a reason to choose it.

In the end, we always come back to one simple question:

Does it look good — and can it actually sell?

That is one of the things we keep in mind when developing floral packaging at Dekoron.

Good packaging should not only look good. It should have a reason to sell.
